Recently there have been a lot of 'stray bullets' causing injury and death to innocent people minding their own business on the streets or in their homes. Individuals are shooting at each other, they miss each other but a stray bullet kills an innocent person. Gangs are fighting each other and a bullet from the battle misses its intended target and kills an innocent someone. Why bother?
A bomb is dropped on an intended target falls short of its mark (wrong intelligence) and wipes out half of a village of innocent people. Stuff happens in war whether between individuals, gangs or nations.
Stray bullets, stray bombs all miss the intended target/s and kill innocent people. What do we do then. Get the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
Or write it off as 'collateral damage'. Who cares?
